[Video Tutorial] How to Pick Thread Colours

Choosing the correct thread colour can be a daunting task, so we created a tutorial to ease that process.

Hint: imagine all the spools as candy, and you'll be much more motivated!

Tips for Picking Thread Color

Here are a few tips that we find help us pick out the right thread colour to go with our design. 

• If you want your mistakes to be hidden, pick a thread color that disappears into the colour of your fabric.
• If you are picking a thread color for a printed fabric, go with the color of the fabric that is constant throughout the entire print or the background color.
• When in doubt, go with a thread shade darker rather than a shade lighter as it will be less obvious to the eye.

​In the end, just remember, you are the designer, so pick the colour you are drawn to the most!
