Intro to Reverse Pattern Drafting
If you are curious about pattern drafting but too intimated by too much math, this is the perfect place to begin. Reverse pattern drafting is the art of extracting out a pattern from an already made garment. In this introductory course you will gain an understanding of basic drafting techniques. You will walk away with a final pattern that is true and ready to sew!
Ideal garments to use as an introduction to reverse pattern drafting include sleeveless tops, basic t-shirts, skirts, and dresses. Avoid garments such as pants, jackets, and items that are fully lined. Work your way up. |
Pre-Requisite:
A good understanding of garment construction. You should have worked with either a commercial pattern or a studio pattern.
You will be required to bring in 2-3 uncomplicated garments to consult on prior to drafting. Feel free to email us pictures in advance. Please ensure garments are laundered.
Notes and drafting paper are included. Studio is fully equipped with the necessary tools and supplies to use during your lessons. Just bring yourself and a notebook.
